Game of the Year

Game of the year award is typically given to the game with the best experience across both creative and technical areas. Elden Ring took home the Game of the year award for 2022 becoming the best game of 2022. The nominations included A Plague Tale: Requiem, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Best Game Direction

Elden Ring grabbed this title as well. This is an award for exceptional creative vision and innovation in game direction and design. The nominations included God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Immortality, and Stray.

Best Art Direction

Another award was bagged by Elden ring during the Game Awards 2022 night for great creative and technical achievement in artistic design and animation. Titles including God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon: Forbidden West, Scorn, and Stray were the nominees.

Best Narrative

Best narrative award went to God of War: Ragnarok for excellent storytelling and narrative development in a game. The nominees were A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, and Immortality.

Best Score

Bear McCreary won this award for composing the soundtrack of God of War: Ragnarok.

This is an award to appreciate the best in-game audio and sound design. God of War: Ragnarok was awarded this honor.

This is an award given to a gaming title that is a thought-provoking game with a pro-social message. As Dusk Falls is the gaming title that bagged this award. This is an adventure game about the lives of two families that become connected when a robbery goes wrong.

Best Ongoing Game

Best ongoing game is a prize given for the remarkable development of ongoing content that evolves the player experience over time. The gaming community's favorite Final Fantasy 14 Online grabbed this award from the list of nominees including Apex Legends, Destiny 2, Fortnite, and Genshin Impact.

Best Indie Game

This category is for a title that showed excellent creative and technical achievement in a game made outside the traditional publisher system. Stray developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive bagged this award. The nominee list included Cult of the Lamb, Neon White, Sifu, and TUNIC.

Best Mobile Game

The honor of best game playable on mobile was taken by Marvel Snap. It has only been two months since the game was released and it has already managed to win an award. Marvel snap is a card-battling game where you can choose a character from the Marvel Multiverse. Marvel Snap squared off against Apex Legends Mobile, Diablo Immortal, Genshin Impact, and Tower of Fantasy to win the Best mobile game of 2022 during the Game Awards 2022.
