A Twitter post from M. Brandon Lee has revealed that Google may be offering a Google Pass to its users in the future. Similar to Apple One, the rumored subscription bundle features a new Pixel device with an extended warranty and premium subscriptions to several Google services. The leaked documents on Twitter indicate that the bundle will be sold via Google Fi and the Google Store along with the purchase of a Pixel device."Pixel Pass appears to be a blend of the iPhone upgrade plan where you can get a new phone every year and the Apple One Subscription. (It) Contains YouTube Premium, Google One, Play Pass, extended warranty, and is associated with Google Fi," quotes Lee. These services will cover video and music streaming, cloud storage, mobile network coverage, and an app subscription bundle.
The Twitter leak also suggests that the extended device warranty is similar to the current Preferred Care or Device Protection services from the search engine giant. This offers protection against accidental and mechanical breakdown damage. Currently, preferred care is only available in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico, while Device Protection is only offered in the US as a part of the Google Fi service.
There is no mention of the pricing of the plan. However, Pixel Pass might be offered at a discount compared to Apple One to entice more customers. Google is releasing Google Pixel 6 on the 19th of October. Customers waiting to buy the new phone might be offered the new subscription bundle at a discount.
