Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Beta Coming Soon

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II beta is going to launch next month according to the official Call of Duty Twitter account. Good news for PlayStation players as they will be the first to get access followed by Xbox and PC owners. Preorders to the beta game are currently open to players. Call of Duty Modern Warfare was originally released in October 2019.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Beta Release Date

The release date for the beta is set for September 16 to 17 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players who preordered the game. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II beta will be open to all PlayStation players from September 18 to 20.

The cross-play beta on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC will last from September 22 to 23 for players who preordered the game. The open cross-play beta is slated to release for all platforms from September 24 to 26. Each session begins at 1 PM Eastern Time (ET). Players on all platforms can download the open beta and play the game for free between September 24 and 26.

Those who haven't pre-ordered the game will have the chance to receive a beta code for early access. Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward already gave some codes away during the Call of Duty League tournament today, but game streamers and YouTubers will be giving some away leading up to the beta’s start date.

Call Infinity Ward also announced that it has designed the Grand Prix map as a part of the beta test which will be available during the beta period. Rumors suggest that there is a campaign-early access that will launch sometime after the open beta release, but this is not confirmed yet.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the sequel to Call of Duty Modern Warfare. This title has the same name as MW 2 released in 2009. The new title will feature the infamous Task Force 141 from the 2009 classic. The developers have also shown off some new movements, gun mechanics, and a brand-new engine in a bid to boost the gaming experience. Modern Warfare 2 is all set to be released on October 28, 2022.

Infinity Ward showed a sneak peek of Modern Warfare II in June. It is set to reveal more about the upcoming game at its Call of Duty: Next event on September 15 which will also include a full multiplayer reveal. Modern Warfare II will release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC (via Battle.net and Steam) on October 28.
