Spotify is rolling out an update to its Home tab where users go to find new recommendations and revisit recent favorites. The update will launch a new Home experience that includes feeds for both Music and Podcasts & Shows. The feature is currently rolling out to Android users and will soon be available on iOS.
Spotify Improving User Experience
According to Spotify, this update is part of an effort to give users more and better recommendations. The update also addresses a common user complaint, a combination of audios mixed together creating confusion for users.
"This week, we are launching a new Home experience that includes feeds for both Music and Podcasts & Shows. The feature is currently rolling out to Android users and will soon be available on iOS. By creating these feeds, Spotify will help listeners easily scroll through the type of content they’re looking for at that moment. The updated interface will make the experience more personalized while allowing users to dig even deeper into their recommendations," according to Spotify blog.
Spotify Podcast and Music Feed
The new music feature will allow listeners quick access to suggestions based on their music taste. There will also be album and playlist recommendations as well as buttons that make it easy to share, like, and instantly play music. Podcast & Shows feed will let listeners navigate straight to new episodes of favorite shows. Users will also be able to find personalized podcast recommendations. Users will be able to read episode descriptions, save to Your Episodes or start playing podcasts without leaving the page.
Changes to Spotify Home Tab
Spotify's changes can be spotted at the top of the screen on the home tab. There will be two new buttons: Music and Podcasts & Shows. Tapping one of these options will take you into separate feeds. Music will show you personalized suggestions, while Podcasts & Shows will recommend the latest episodes of your favorite shows and suggest new ones.
Spotify is desperately trying for ways to remain the one of the top audio providers and make money from its audio business.
