Apple iOS 16 Update Is Rolling Out Today: Here Are The Best New Features

The Apple iOS 16 update will be released in a few hours and the tech giant will be bringing some exciting new features this time around. Users with iPhone 8 and above will be able to install the update. Some big changes are about to hit the iPhone users including a customizable lockscreen and new iMessage features. 

Here are the best features rolling out with the Apple iOS 16 update that can change the way your phone functions.

1. Customisable lockscreen

You will now be able to customise your lockscreen by changing fonts and enabling widgets. Customise your lockscreen by following these steps

• Hold on the lockscreen and click on customise
• Choose the image button on the bottom left to select your photos
• Swipe left and right to change the style
• Press on the clock to change the font style

2. Lockscreen widget

You will now be able to enable widgets on your lockscreen. Here are the steps to activate widgets on your Apple’s lockscreen:

• Long press on the lockscreen and click customize 
• Click add widgets and select the widgets 
• You can also change widgets if you click on the date at the top

3. Focus filter

The iPhone maker has included a focus filter with the new Apple iOS 16 update which can change your lock screen based on focus. Lock screen can now be changed with background and widgets that you would like to focus on during your day. You can set it up by going to settings, clicking on “Your Focus” and then choosing customize screen and create a new lockscreen. 

You can also customize how apps and your device behave when a specific focus filter is enabled. For instance, you can only see conversations with people you have allowed notifications from if you have switched on work focus. 

4. Edit/Unsend a Message  

This is the most interesting and practical feature to come to iMessages. You can now unsend the message if you regret pressing send on a message. Long tap on the message that you just sent and you will find undo send or edit options. 

5. Lift subject from the Background 

You can now easily lift a subject from an image or isolate the subject by removing the background. Follow these steps to tinker with the subject in an image: 

• Open the image and long tap on the main subject.
• Click on copy after a shimmer appears 
• You can also paste the image else where 

With the Apple iOS 16 update, the tech giant has also brought back the  full-screen music player on the Lock Screen with large album art and a color-matched wallpaper.
