After a series of upgrades, the OnePlus finally introduces OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G. This 90Hz smartphone stands out as a minor evolution among the long list of OnePlus smartphones. Unlike its predecessor Nord CE, OnePlus Nord CE2 5G has some amazing new features.
So, if you're planning to buy this smartphone, you must explore more about it. And for this, we reviewed OnePlus Nord CE2 5G. Let's take a look at this 5G smartphone to know whether it's worth buying or not.

Starting with Nord CE2's design, we feel it's not much different from the OnePlus Nord CE 5G model. However, it's slightly slimmer than the previous model. It measures 7.8mm in thickness which makes it the slimmest smartphone from OnePlus. Other than this, we found OnePlus 6T as the second-most slim smartphone available today. Interestingly, Nord CE2 has a few omissions which we think weren't necessary. And this brings us to the next feature- its camera.
Just like Oppo's curved camera design, OnePlus Nord CE2 5G also has a similar setup for the camera. To be more specific, the OnePlus Nord CE2's camera rise gradually and seamlessly merges at the backside. This design reminds us of Oppo Find X5 Pro. Well, it definitely makes sense as recently these two companies did merge. Besides, we noticed a major improvement in this current model — the all-new Dimensity 900 chip. OnePlus also claims that in Nord CE2 5G, the portrait and night mode is now enhanced algorithmically.
Honestly, we can say that OnePlus Nord CE2 5G captures great pictures but we feel Realme 9 Pro Plus is much better in this matter. Its flagship Sony IMX766 sensor is the real reason behind its perfect low-light shots. So, the in-camera specs, Nord CE2 could do much better.
Coming to its display, Nord CE2 has 6.43 inches FHD+ AMOLED display just like its predecessor model. Besides, it has a refresh rate of 90Hz, which is quite decent considering the price range of Nord CE2. Further, this new model uses Gorilla Glass 5, unlike its previous model that used DragonTail glass. Apart from these, we totally love the vivid P3 display mode that punches up bright colors quite well. You can even minimize this by switching to Gentle sRGBmode. And its HDR10+ certifications enable you to enjoy 4K videos without any color distortion or blurs.
Additionally, we like the Always On-Display feature that helps you save battery life by clearing up unnecessary information. And to our surprise, Nord CE2 also features an in-display fingerprint sensor instead of side-mounted alternatives.
At last, we want to talk about its performance. Well, according to OnePlus, the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 900 chip in the smartphone is now 20% faster and more efficient than the 8nm Snapdragon 750G used in the previous model. However, our test runs showed a decent performance compared to its price.
Overall, OnePlus Nord CE2 5G is a great model today. It's affordable, delivers good performance, and is packed with some great features. Check out the model today!
