Amazon's Echo Frames is getting an upgrade with features including an automatic power-saving sleep mode and a shortcut to quickly call someone from your contact list.
Check out the Echo Frames (2nd Gen), Smart audio glasses with Alexa.
The first-generation Echo Frames had poor battery life which only gave three hours of playback time. With the new Frames, you will be able to switch the device to low power mode by just holding it upside down. It will automatically switch on once the user wears it on. This will compensate for the wasted battery life and improve the playback time.
The upgraded Alexa-enabled glasses can also call a priority contact with just a long press on the Echo Frames’ touchpad. Users can also change the wake word from Alexa to Echo. The automatic volume feature of the glasses is being updated as well so that they can adjust throughout a listening session to overcome background noise.
The first-gen Echo Frames was quite poor when it came to battery life and connectivity with other devices. Amazon is trying to reiterate the first edition, only this time with improved battery life and better features.
The Frames will be released on November 10th for $249.99. It will be available in gray and blue colors along with the existing tortoiseshell frames. Users can also opt for new lenses for polarized sunglasses and blue-light filters for $269.99.
