The highly anticipated headphone of 2022, the Sony WH-1000XM5 is currently the hot topic amongst loyal Sony users. Following the footsteps of its predecessor WH-1000XM4, Sony WH-1000XM5 has created quite hype about its quality and performance in the market.

Well, it’s still uncertain how legit these pictures are, as Sony hasn’t commented anything yet. Earlier TechnikNews reported that the battery life is up to 40 hours. Well, the 10 hours less difference hasn’t been figured out yet.
Besides, the previous model WH-1000XM4 offers 30 hours of battery life including active noise cancellation. So, if Sony doesn’t make improvements in this section then it might be left out of the current competition. Moreover, recent over-the-ear headphones tend to offer up to 50 hours, so it’s quite a big deal for Sony to live up to customer expectations in this case. However, we believe Sony WH-1000XM5 can still achieve 40 hours with active noise cancellation mode off.

That being said, the images leaked also suggest that this WH-1000XM5 model has Hi-Res support audio, Sony 360 Reality Audio Support, and even built-in Alexa/Google Assistant. Besides, it also appears that Sony WH-1000XM5 comes with a streamlined sports design with generously padded earcups connected to a narrow headband. Such a design reminds us of Bose 700. The speculation around this headband is that its metal instead of plastic.
Coming to the charging time, WH-1000XM5 takes 3.5 hours over a C-type USB charger. And this charging time is 30 minutes more than other recent headphones. Another potential change in this upcoming model is the repositioning of its three microphones. Moreover, an NC/ Ambient button is included in this model rather than a custom one. But it’s hard to say whether it’ll be reprogrammable after voice assistant activation. Further than this, there is just vague information about the headphones.
Further, the release date of the Sony WH-1000XM5 hasn’t been announced. However, it is sure to drop this year only.
