Samsung's smartphone selection is larger and better than ever, with new variants released each year. It ranges from the low-cost Galaxy A Series of smartphones to the legendary Galaxy S family and the ground-breaking Z series of foldable phones. This year, the tech behemoth has already released four new Samsung phones. Samsung launched the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in February, with a new look and improved hardware specs over its Galaxy S21 predecessors. The Galaxy A53 5G was added to Samsung's Galaxy A range in March. The newcomer offers better hardware specs at a lesser price than its predecessor.
We're breaking down everything you need to know about the greatest and latest Samsung phones, whether you're searching for the most feature-packed Android smartphone on the market, a budget-friendly alternative only for the essentials, or the brand's latest model to hit the stores.
After you've picked up your phone, another Samsung advantage is the sheer amount of accessories available. You can get some Galaxy headphones, a new Galaxy Watch, or other charging accessories. You may spend your money on power banks, wireless chargers, and other items. Of course, if you purchase a current Galaxy S-series handset, you'll need to hunt for peripherals that enable USB PD PPS support. This provides for the quickest charging, but it might also be a disadvantage because it is not currently available on all accessories.
The One UI skin is another incentive to continue with Samsung. It's come a long way since the days of TouchWiz, and it's now one of our favorite Android skins. You may take or leave Bixby, but the rest of the UI should be easy to navigate.
Galaxy Z Fold
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has finally been joined by a successor. That isn't to say that isn't still one of the greatest Samsung phones, but its replacement is in a class of its own. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 was formally introduced on August 11, 2021, with pre-orders beginning the same day and a release date set for August 27, 2021.
Samsung has made significant enhancements to the gadget. The 6.3-inch cover display, as well as the 7.6-inch folding display, are 29 percent brighter. Both screens feature a refresh rate of 120Hz. A 4-megapixel Under Display Camera is also included with the internal display. It's also Samsung's first foldable smartphone to support the S Pen.
The Snapdragon 888 CPU powers the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which has 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It is also the first foldable smartphone with an IPX8 water-resistant grade. Check out our Galaxy Z Fold 3 specifications page for more information.
A 12-megapixel main sensor is combined with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom in the camera configuration. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is less expensive than its predecessor, starting at $1,799 USD. It's available in a number of hues, including Phantom Black, Green, and Silver.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series
The new Galaxy S22 family debuted at the February Unpacked event, with three separate variants. While there are many similarities to last year's Galaxy S21 series, the 2017 flagships may be more distinct than ever. For starters, the Galaxy S22 Ultra seems like a standalone gadget. It resembles a Galaxy Note 20 successor more than any other Galaxy S handset, thanks to its boxier appearance and built-in S Pen slot. It also forgoes a Contour Cut camera design in favor of tiny bubbles for each lens. Despite the fact that Samsung updated the majority of the aesthetic aspects, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has the same amazing camera configuration as last year as well as top-tier internals.
In the United States and certain regions, all three of Samsung's current flagships include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Other markets will receive the Exynos 2200, and 45W charging will be reinstated. It's only available for the Galaxy S22 Plus and S22 Ultra – the original Galaxy S22 has a maximum power output of 25W. This year, Samsung also took the unusual choice to downsize its batteries. The Galaxy S22 has a 3,700mAh battery, down from 4,000mAh, while the Galaxy S22 Plus has a 4,500mAh battery, down from 4,800mAh.
We wish the battery life was a little longer, but we do enjoy that Samsung has returned to 45W charging for this model. Overall, this is a good device that should appeal to anyone looking for the new Samsung phones.
Galaxy Z Flip
Samsung has released the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in response to the popularity of the Galaxy Z Flip. The gadget was revealed on August 11, 2021, with a release date of August 27 scheduled later that month. The clamshell foldable will rapidly become one of the most sought-after products on the market at its pricing point. The bigger 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover display is a great improvement because it can now display more material. Users may engage with apps without having to unfold the tablet. In addition, the 6.7-inch foldable display is brighter than its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has the added benefit of being water-resistant.
The Snapdragon 888 chipset, combined with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, gives it flagship-level performance. The 3,300mAh battery is capable of 15W quick charging. The camera arrangement includes a 12-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 10-megapixel f/2.4 selfie camera.
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is Samsung's most affordable foldable smartphone to date, starting at $999. It comes in a variety of hues, including Phantom Black, Green, and Lavender. In addition, Samsung has released the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition. Customers in seven areas will be able to select from 49 different color combinations for the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Everything else is identical to the standard model.
Samsung Galaxy A52
The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G delivers just enough quality features at a low enough price to make customers reconsider purchasing a flagship phone. It costs $499/£400 and is aimed at the ordinary user who is concerned with photography, streaming, gaming, and battery life. This phone offers a 120Hz display, four back cameras, and 5G connectivity in a colorful design for about $500. Samsung has given its new mid-range Galaxy A phones, including the A32, A52, A52 5G, and A72, a new colorful, whimsical look. The rear of the Galaxy A52 5G is made of plastic, but it doesn't seem cheap owing to a pleasant semi-matte texture that keeps fingerprints away.
In terms of durability, the Galaxy A52 5G has an IP67 water/dust resistance rating, which means it can withstand 30 minutes submerged in around three feet (1 meter) of water and will not allow in any dust. One of the Galaxy A52 5G's best characteristics is its display. You get a bright and vivid 6.5-inch screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, which is an uncommon feature in a phone that isn't as expensive as a flagship. When you switch to vivid mode on the Galaxy A52 5G, you'll see a lot of vibrant colors – 201.35 percent of the sRGB color spectrum, to be exact. When set to Natural mode, which recreates 128.1 percent of the sRGB spectrum, colors are substantially more true.
On the A52 5G, Samsung has included a headphone port, which is wonderful for anyone who still uses wired headphones. That also helps to highlight the A52 5G's excellent stereo speaker setup. The Galaxy A52 5G has four sensors on the rear, however, some are more helpful than others. The primary camera has 64 MP resolution, although it captures photographs at 12MP by default to keep image file sizes manageable. A 12MP ultrawide shooter and a 5MP macro camera round out the major sensors, with the final sensor being a 5MP depth camera for adding depth-of-field effects to portrait mode images.
The Galaxy A52 5G also has some appealing features, including its quirky design, 120Hz display rate, and flexible primary 64MP camera. And, for the price, the performance and battery life are excellent which makes it one of the best new Samsung phones.
Galaxy Note
Few smartphone product lines are as well-known as the Samsung Galaxy Note series. Samsung's Galaxy Note series has dared to go where few phones have gone before.
With cutting-edge technology, an emphasis on design, and a unique selling point, it has always served as a parallel flagship to the Galaxy S range. The series has bravely adopted the pen, a niche use case, and has continually innovated on it to make it more than just another pointing device.
August is Galaxy Note month, and Samsung has also announced two new devices for 2020. On August 21, 2020, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be available for purchase. They are the final Galaxy Note flagships since the series has been incorporated into the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
There are several significant distinctions between the two models. The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra have 6.7-inch flat FHD+ displays and a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ curved display with a dynamic refresh rate of 120Hz. The former lacks a microSD card slot, whilst the latter does. Both do not support 45W super-rapid charging, instead of topping out at 25W.
The Note 20 series took things to the next level. The design was comparable to the Note 10, although the two devices are vastly different in most areas.
Let's begin with the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The massive slab of aluminum arrived in a lovely new magical bronze color. The camera module had a distinct chiseled appearance that stuck out, albeit some may feel it to protruded a little too much. The aggressive camera design served as the foundation for the camera unit in the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the inspiration can be seen even in the Galaxy Fold 3. The Note 20 Ultra, for the most part, takes all of the best features of the Note 10 Plus and refines them to perfection.
While the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra preserves the unique metal and glass design of Samsung flagships, the Galaxy Note 20 simply receives a plastic back. This is an unexpected move taken by Samsung this year, in addition to not offering a 120Hz refresh rate on the smaller device. They both feature the same Exynos 990/Snapdragon 865+ chipsets, with the Note 20 only receiving 8GB of RAM and the Ultra having 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
Samsung Galaxy A03s
This year, Samsung appears to be embracing some substantial changes. While the Galaxy A03s may not completely transform the entry-level market, it does provide some welcome improvements for less than $200. It finally provides a fingerprint reader for the A02s rather than depending on software-based security.
Even with HD quality, the screen is still rather large at 6.5 inches. Even though the 13MP primary shooter is the only one worth utilizing in most instances, the three cameras on the rear do the job. Other specifications and features include 32 or 64GB of expandable storage, a 5,000mAh battery, and Android 11 with Samsung's One UI layered on top. All things considered, the Galaxy A03s is one of the greatest Samsung phones available for less than $200.
So now that you know all about the new Samsung phones in the market, go ahead and invest in a model that suits your needs!
